The Trustees of The Religious of Jesus and Mary Charitable Trust are seeking to appoint a Nursery Manager for a new nursery, which is to open in September 2021. This Nursery will be an inclusive nursery which will hold a distinctive Catholic ethos and will embrace the Charism of the Order.
The role of the Nursery Manager will be to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery and to deliver the highest standards of care and education.
You must have at least three years nursery experience, hold a full and relevant qualification in Early Years at Level 3 or above, understand and ensure the requirements of the EYFS and Ofsted are met and have good experience working in a nursery setting ideally in a management or team leader position.
Duties will include:
- Creating a safe and stimulating environment to promote learning and inclusion for all children.
- Building relationships with parents and carers, schools, and other childcare professionals and agencies.
- Leading and managing a team of staff
- Helping to recruit staff following safer recruitment practices
- Coaching and Training the nursery team
- Keeping records and creating management reports
- Keeping up to date with developments across the early years’ sector
- Making sure the nursery meets Ofsted and Early Years Foundation Stage standards
- Being the designated safeguarding lead
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a minimum of Level 3 qualification in childcare/early years
- Have experience of OFSTED inspections
- Have a great working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Have excellent leadership skills
- Have experience of management either of an EY setting or a team within the setting
- Be a practising Catholic
