Book will help couples preparing for marriage

A brand new resource to help couples discerning and preparing for marriage has just been published by the Catholic Truth Society -Cherishing Your Wedding: helping couples prepare for marriage in the Catholic Church.

The author is Diocese of East Anglia marriage and family life coordinator, Kerry Urdzik (pictured). She said: "The book was written in response to a need identified by CTS. It is a comprehensive but accessible resource which should be an invaluable companion for couples, and a very useful complement to our diocesan marriage preparation programme So Great a Mystery."

Inspired by the many questions and concerns engaged couples express as they move towards their wedding day, Cherishing Your Wedding talks the couple through their wedding promises to be sure they understand the nature of the relationship into which they are about to enter.

As well as an exploration of marriage in the Church, it contains answers to frequently asked questions such as the requirements of mixed marriages.

It includes chapters which guide the couple as they plan a beautiful wedding liturgy, and advice on how to prepare for married life thereafter.

Each chapter contains a "to do', "reflection' and "prayer' section, helping the couple prepare both spiritually and practically. Appendices at the end include a "wedding countdown' checklist and suggestions for suitable readings and music.
