It will be run by Diocesan Communications Director Keith Morris, who is also an experienced journalist, and aims to provide advice and resources on how to get parish news and events featured in the local press. It will also offer the chance to discuss the opportunities that working with the media can provide.
It is intended for New Evangelisation reps, parish communications officers and any clergy that might find it useful.
Keith said: “The workshop is quite interactive and I hope participants will go away with ideas for stories about their parishes and be equipped with strategies to help see them appear in the local media.
“The previous workshop in Beccles resulting in a number of great stories appearing in local newspapers, on BBC local radio stations and in the national Catholic press.”

The workshop will be run in partnership with the New Evangelisation Commission, and coordinator, Rebecca Bretherton, said: “Having a presence in our local papers and online creates an opportunity to share stories of our Catholic life and mission with others.”
