Mary is theme of Newman Lecture series in Norwich

Mary, one of Cardinal Newman’s great loves, is the theme of the popular 2019 Newman Lecture series in Norwich during May and June.

The three lectures will look at Mary in Sacred Scripture, in Sacred Music and in Sacred Art.

The lecture series is moving venue to the Narthex at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Norwich, so attendees can take advantage of the Cathedral gardens and the Narthex Bar before and after each lecture.

The opening lecture, on May 23 is by Fr John Hemer on Mary in Sacred Scripture.  Fr John is the Scripture professor at Allen Hall Seminary in Westminster, and a hugely engaging speaker.

Mary in Sacred Music on Thursday 30 May will be led by Director of Music Daniel Justin & the Cathedral Schola, Cathedral of St John the Baptist.

Finally on Thursday 6 June, will be Mary in Sacred Art by Dr Caroline Farey, formerly Director of Studies at the School of the Annunciation – Centre for the New Evangelisation at Buckfast Abbey in Devon.

There is no need to book tickets to these events, and everyone is welcome to attend. Lectures start at 6.30pm, and parking at the Cathedral is free, at Unthank Road, Norwich, NR2 2PA
