The consultation opened on September 9 and closes on October 20. The responses to this consultation will determine whether the Diocese proceeds to the next stage of making a formal proposal to Peterborough City Council to open a school.
Helen Bates, Assistant Director for Schools, stressed: “We really need people to fill in the response form either online or a paper copy. Don’t assume that someone else will do it. Even if you have a child or grandchild already in a Catholic school, this is for future children, most of whom will not even be born yet!
“Likewise, even if you don’t have children or live in the Hamptons, if you support Catholic schools we need your help to show the City Council that there is support out there.”
The response form is available online at https://www.rcdea.org.uk/consultation-response-form/.
Paper copies can be found in local Catholic schools and churches and in local libraries or you can ask for one by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or writing to Diocesan Schools’ Office, 21 Upgate, Poringland, Norwich, NR14 7SH. All response forms must be returned by Sunday October 20, 2019.
