Upcoming Youth Events 2019

Below are a list of events from around the Diocese of East Anglia, the majority are run by the Diocesan Youth Service but some may be run by other organisations operating in the Diocese.

 

Saturday 26th January 2019 – World Youth Day Prayer Vigil, Peterborough.

To coincide with World Youth Day in Panama, the Ignite Team will be holding a vigil for all those aged 16+ in St Oswald’s Church, 933 Lincoln Road, Walton, Peterborough PE4 6AE, commencing at 7:30pm and ending at midnight. There will be Adoration throughout and people are welcome to come and go throughout the evening!

Participants are welcome to join the parish for Sunday Mass at 6pm before the vigil starts.

 

 

21st-29th January 2019: World Youth Day Panama

Saturday 23rd February 2019: Discipleship Day

A day for those aged 16-35 who want to grow in their faith and relationship with God including prayer, talks, fellowship and workshops. To be held in Brandon, Suffolk  – 10am to 5pm. Free of charge.

Under 18s must have a completed parental consent form – contact Catherine at igniteteam@rcdea.org.uk.

 

 

Saturday 2nd March: Flame 2019

Catholics take over Wembley Arena for a day of world-class music, talks and times of worship. Confirmed guests include Christian rap artist Guvna B, musician Tim Hughes and Cardinal Vincent Nichols.

Tickets are £25 for our Diocesan group including event ticket & subsidised transport from various pick-up points.

Saturday 23rd March 2019: Glow Day, Peterborough

For all those of secondary school age who want to grow in their faith and relationship with God. The day will include dynamic talks, interactive workshops, activities, music and prayer. At St. Oswald’s Church, 933 Lincoln Road, Walton, Peterborough PE4 6AE, from 10am until 5pm. Booking and parental consent forms will be available here soon.

 

 

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th May 2019: Ignite Festival

Annual bank holiday weekend festival for those aged 12-18 featuring live music, quality speakers and plenty of opportunities to encounter God in a new and profound way. Saturday 15th June 2019 (TBC): Burning Lights

Day of faith, fun, food & friendship for those aged 8 to 12. Including music, games, prayer & loads more. More details to come soon.

 

 

July 2019 – Annual Youth Summer Pilgrimage

Each summer we take a group of young adults (aged 18-35) on pilgrimage. Plans for 2019 are still being drawn up but previous destinations have included Santiago de Compostela, Fatima, Taizé, Lindisfarne and Iona.

 

 

Thursday 22nd – Monday 26th August 2019 – Youth 2000 Walsingham Summer Festival

One of England’s biggest Catholic events takes place each year at Walsingham in Norfolk. Run by Youth 2000 and aimed at 16-35 year olds with high-quality talks, praise & worship music, workshops and 24 hour Adoration. It’s a summer festival, but Catholic! Monthly – ‘1061′ Young Adult Formation Retreats

Run by the National Shrine of Our Lady & Youth 2000 at Dowry House in Walsingham for 18-30s exploring prayer & sacraments, scripture & tradition and radical generosity. Visit www.youth2000.org/1061 for more information.
