Diocesan Jubilee Celebrations in Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds hosted the second of its Diocesan Jubilee celebrations on Pentecost Sunday, with a packed congregation gathering for Mass celebrated by Fr Sean Connolly.

Proceedings began with a vibrant procession of flags representing around 40 nations, setting a fitting tone for the day. The beautifully melodic, multicultural choirs created a warm and uplifting atmosphere of unity and harmony.

In his homily, Fr Sean reflected on the meaning of Pentecost and the power of the Holy Spirit, a presence keenly felt by those in attendance. Parishioners also had the opportunity to revisit an exhibition of ancient vestments before making their way to the Crypt, where the celebrations continued with a traditional shared lunch featuring a variety of cultural dishes.
