The parish’s Get Up and Go group organises a variety of activities throughout the year, providing opportunities for parishioners to socialise, strengthen friendships and enjoy one another’s company.
Among the group’s regular activities is its popular daytime disco, which gives parishioners the chance to take to the dance floor while enjoying music from across the decades. With plenty of laughter, dancing and familiar songs bringing back fond memories, the discos have become an enjoyable way of building companionship within the parish community.
The events also support those in need, with money raised donated to CAFOD and the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP).
Combining friendship, music and charitable giving, the daytime discos are a lively example of how St George’s is bringing its community together while supporting the work of Catholic charities.
