Beginning on 9 March, Fr Robin Joseph CRM, of the Adorno Fathers and parish priest of St Laurence’s, led a ten-day novena in preparation for the feast of our Blessed Father St Joseph. The novena was prayerfully observed after each Mass, offering the faithful an opportunity to reflect more deeply on the life and virtues of St Joseph.
The novena culminated in a solemn Mass for the feast of St Joseph, followed by a festive gathering shared by parishioners and visitors alike. This celebration proved to be a wonderful occasion for the whole community, as members of different groups within the parish came together, strengthening bonds and fostering a spirit of unity. It was, by all accounts, a fitting tribute both to St Joseph and to the vibrant life of St Laurence’s parish.
Just days earlier, on 17 March, the parish had also marked the feast of St Patrick. Following a Mass dedicated to the beloved saint, alongside the continuing novena prayers to St Joseph, the parish’s Irish members hosted a lively and warm-hearted evening of celebration. Parishioners enjoyed an atmosphere of joy and conviviality, with food, fellowship and festivities reflecting the rich traditions of St Patrick’s Day.
Together, these occasions highlight the strong sense of community at St Laurence’s, where prayer and celebration go hand in hand, and where the diversity of the parish family is embraced with warmth and gratitude.
