Ignite announces speakers for online youth festival

Steve Murray, Jacob DeRusha and Pippa Baker will be among the guest speakers at Ignite@Home, the online youth festival taking place this weekend from May 8 to May 10.

Each day will feature music, entertainment, a talk, and a time of prayer, all inviting the participants to explore their spirituality and go a little bit deeper in their walk with Christ.  The sessions will be live-streamed, available for any youth in the diocese to watch and share with their friends.

The Ignite team has now announced the line-up of speakers and musicians for weekend.

FridaySteve Murray, experienced Christian speaker and mime artist. His emotionally powerful presentations have made him a firm favourite at the Ignite Festival in previous years and we are delighted to welcome him back for Ignite@Home. www.beholdmimeministry.org
Sr Gabi from the Community of Our Lady of Walsingham, East Anglia’s newest religious community, will also be joining us.
Saturday Jacob DeRusha, international speaker and hip-hop artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are looking forward to hearing his personal take on repentance and forgiveness. https://jacobderusha.wordpress.com
Sunday Pippa Baker. Pippa’s ministry to young people has included heading up the national Joel’s Bar event for young adults and speaking at Youth 2000’s Summer Festival in Walsingham. She is also part of Christian music collective OneHopeProject.
The musical line-up features home-grown acts including:
Daisy Hill, from Cambridgeshire. Daisy performed for us back at Ignite Festival 2017. Since then she’s gone on to release an EP and make a number of radio appearances as well as continuing to gig and make new music.
Shelina Guedes, from Peterborough. Shelina has led youth ministry with Jesus Youth and in her parish at St Peter and All Souls in Peterborough City Centre. She has also been posting some great music and reflections online in lockdown. https://www.youtube.com/user/shelinaguedes.

Ignite@Home is a great opportunity for anyone who’s struggling with the current crisis to find some solid hope, sustaining their souls for the challenges yet to come.
