May crowning, Lourdes pilgrimage and prison chaplain

Latest news of interest to the East Anglia Catholic community includes a May crowning of Our Lady, a new Lourdes pilgrimage video and an opportunity for a Catholic prison chaplain in Suffolk.

Despite a little rain, St Joseph parishioners, in St Neots, gathered in the parish garden on May 14 to crown Our Lady (pictured above). Fr Tibor Borovský, parish priest, led the prayers and Francisca Shaw placed the crown, which was handmade by Liz Lloyd. The event was attended by members of the UCM and the Rosary Prayer Group. The crown was handmade by one of the parishioners.

The Catholic Association Pilgrimage to Lourdes, of which the Diocese of East Anglia is a part, have produced a video showcasing the opportunity from August 23  to 30.

East Anglia pilgrimage director Dcn Huw Williams, said: “East Anglia pilgrims are signing up and it will be wonderful if we can grow our numbers further.  Funding is still available.  Young helpers (17-25 yrs old)  for our assisted pilgrims are very welcome.”

There is still time to volunteer for the upcoming pilgrimage, and you can do that via the following links: www.catholicassociation.co.uk  / chiefs@catholicassociation.co.uk
