Additional resources have been added to the Diocesan Caritas web pages to complement the recently released leaflets and posters on the Diocesan Modern Slavery Initiative, says Simon John, Diocesan Co-Lead on Modern Slavery.
They include a copy of the new leaflet and further resources in addition to the existing materials.
Three of the new resources feature words from leaders of the Catholic Church, including Popes Francis and Leo, on the importance we should all attach to resisting modern slavery.
An excellent summary of the scriptural basis for this responsibility is given by Archbishop of Westminster-elect Richard Moth in his very accessible talk on modern slavery in October 2024. A link to this talk is provided as Resource 15.
Other resources outline what we are all asked to do to help, summarise 31 common types of slavery found in the UK, and describe modern slavery resources including films, talks and webinars, podcasts, books, reports, websites and apps.
