North Norfolk SVP Conference gets afloat on Broads

Always on the lookout for interesting outings for the people it visits, members of the North Norfolk SVP conference recently teamed up with the Waveney Stardust Trust to arrange an afternoon cruise on the Norfolk Broads reports David Burns.

The Trust, a registered charity, has been operating since 1992. Its mission is to increase wellbeing for people with impairments by enabling them to enjoy the beauty and wonders of the Norfolk Broads. They have two specially adapted boats which can take up to six wheelchairs and 12 people, operating out of Stalham, Brundall and Beccles.

An afternoon cruise was arranged from Stalham and the SVP group of 12 included three wheelchair users and others who may not normally be able to board a boat.

SVP members provided a picnic tea to be enjoyed during the three-hour cruise down and back up the River Ant and with beautiful weather the scenery was witnessed at its best.

The specially trained volunteer crew were helpful, informative and professional.
