Peterborough priest issues 12-hour prayer challenge

Fr Arockiya Seelan Poobalan, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart and St Oswald’s, Peterborough, has committed himself to 12 hours of Prayer and Adoration from 8am to 8pm on Saturday May 2 to pray for God’s healing touch.


He said: “During this extraordinary time there is so much of suffering and loss, so much of sickness and death, strict lockdowns and social distancing. Churches are closed while we are searching for prayers, comfort and consolation. The whole world is struggling tremendously and in need of God’s healing touch. 

“The theme of the Adoration is ‘Dear Lord Heal the World’.  During the Adoration priest and people from various parts of the world from Australia to Canada to England will join in the prayers, praying for the healing of the whole world from this deadly virus.“Everyone is very welcome to take part in this Adoration Challenge which will be live-streamed online,” said Fr Seelan (pictured above at Sacred Heart).

“You can join in the Adoration for 12 minutes, or 1 hour, or the whole 12 hours. May be you could invite your friends to participate with you?  You could be source of great comfort to someone struggling. Please join us in this Prayer Challenge to pray for yourself, your family & friends or someone you know who is struggling in these extremely difficult times.”
