Spending a night with Mary and Joseph in King’s Lynn

Mary and Joseph journeyed round the Parish of King’s Lynn in search of a resting place, a posada, a home for the night, during the season of Advent, reports Pauline McSherry.

Wherever they travelled an open door and warm welcome were never far away for Mary and Joseph. Families opened their doors and invited neighbours to celebrate the joy of having the couple the donkey as their guests. I too was privileged to share my home with our blessed mother, St Joseph and parish friends.

Together we sat round the sitting room and prayed. Then we partied, it was indeed a time for party fayre and renewed friendship. It was a truly memorable occasion when Mary and Joseph found their posada, their resting place for a night in my home.

Thank you to all helping hands, it was indeed good to be together.
