St Edmund’s Opens Season of Creation

The parish of St Edmund King & Martyr in Bury St Edmunds marked the start of the season of creation with a Mass celebrated outside in the beauty of the presbytery garden on 5 September.

With a first reading taken from the Book of Genesis, parish priest, Fr Sean Connolly, reminded parishioners of their unity with the rest of creation and the call to be thoughtful stewards, thinking not only of how actions impact the immediate environment but also how, on a larger scale, they can disadvantage some of the poorest people of the world.

The congregation shared lunch together afterwards.
