The Mass took place on Sunday September 11. The new church was completed in summer 2012, and replaced a smaller church which had served the parish community for many years since the 1950’s.
Representatives of other churches in Diss joined the celebrations along with some former parishioners who have since moved further afield. The service was led by Parish Priest, Fr Alex Anaman, and Deacon David Croucher.
During the Mass, prayers were said for the repose of the soul of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and for King Charles III. The congregation sang the National Anthem. Refreshments were then served in the Community Room.
Father Alex commented: “The celebration of the tenth anniversary of the church of St Henry Morse, was to thank God as a community for how far He has brought us. It was to praise all those who contributed to this Community, both living and dead, and to see what lies ahead of us in the coming years.
“It was a time also to celebrate our unity and togetherness as a Parish, in communion with our sister churches who came to support us. We also took the opportunity to honour and pray for the repose of the soul of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and for the King and the Royal Family.”
