Website visitors double as East Anglia faith stays strong

Despite lockdown, news from across the Diocese of East Anglia has been flowing thick and fast and visitors to the diocesan website have doubled.

In March and April, an average of 50 stories per month were published on this website, double pre-lockdown totals, showing that the Catholic community is still strong and active across East Anglia.

Website visitor figures for the first full month of lockdown were also double the previous month at 15,544 unique visitors compared to 7,587 and 300% up on the previous year (5815). Page views also doubled from 23,632 to 56,356 and user sessions were up from 11,214 to 27,424 (140%) after lockdown started.

Diocesan communications director, Keith Morris, said: “Now is a more important time than ever to keep communications open and positive news stories flowing, so please contact us if you have some good news to share.”

The most popular page was the live-streaming Mass guide.

The monthly Catholic East Anglia newspaper will not be printed and distributed again until churches are re-opened.
