The event was jointly organised by the parish Live Simply group and CAFOD in East Anglia.
After a welcoming cup of coffee and conversation Jo Kitterick, CAFOD’s Director of Fundraising and Participation started her presentation with a reflection on the Jubilee of Hope and the theme of the 2025 Season of Creation – Peace with Creation. She went on to explain how Laudato Si has changed CAFOD’s vision and strategy in three ways: through listening to the twin cries of the earth and the poor, through developing a culture of encounter and through a commitment to ecological conversion. Jo illustrated her talk with practical examples of the work of CAFOD’s global partners.
The morning was helpful and informative, in the words of one participant, “We were inspired by a thought-provoking presentation on the work of CAFOD across the world which is achieved through the generosity of CAFOD supporters. Jo used practical, tangible examples of CAFOD’s work with its partners. This was done brilliantly and linked liturgically and correctly to the Season of Creation that the Church is presently celebrating.”
