Climbing, dancing, getting lost and Mass in Panama City

On Day Two of World Youth Day in Panama the East Anglia group saw some amazing views of Panama City, got lost and did some dancing. Jess McCall reports.

This morning we had some free time to go and explore Panama City so we decided to go to Ancon Hill which has some amazing views of the city – even from only half-way up. We also got to meet lots of different groups from so many different countries. We saw some local people dancing and got invited to join in with them.

We did however manage to get lost on the way back to the hotel and had help from so many local people trying to help us get back. We ended up having to take a taxi back, but we made it back in one piece, just about.

After getting lost again we finally made it to the opening Mass near the beach. We brought with us the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham, many people were fascinated by her and wanted photos of her and to ask all about her. It was really lovely to see so many people taking an interest.
