Rebecca Bretherton explains: “We spent the day talking to holidaymakers about faith. We started conversations with people if they were willing to chat. Most were happy to stop and discuss the big questions of life: What happens when we die? Why is there so much suffering in the world? We explored their thoughts about God and who Jesus Christ is.
“We listened, and people responded with all sorts of answers. We listened respectfully but were confident to share the truth and to explain our faith in an appropriate way.
“We learnt that people are often searching for answers, especially if they have had difficult experiences in their lives. Many people accepted our prayers, and most people thanked us for giving them an opportunity to think about these important subjects.
“We finished the day in St Mary’s Church praying the Rosary for all those we had met, for their families, and for the situations they had told us about. We prayed that the Holy Spirit will be with each of them, guiding them to a full understanding of the promises of Christ.”
