Pilgrimages have long been a cherished tradition of the Church, offering times of prayer, reflection and fellowship, and this promises to be a deeply enriching experience for all who take part.
In previous years, diocesan pilgrimages have attracted more than 40 participants, bringing together people from across our parishes to share in a common spiritual journey. However, many parishioners may not yet be aware that this year’s pilgrimage is taking place, and we are keen to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to consider joining.
Rome, at the heart of the Catholic Church, offers pilgrims the chance to visit sacred sites including St Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican, and many other places of profound historical and spiritual significance. Travelling as part of a diocesan group also provides a unique sense of community, as pilgrims share prayer, worship and companionship throughout the journey.
To make booking as simple as possible, the easiest and quickest way to sign up is online via Pilgrimage People. Simply visit their website (www.pilgrimagepeople.org), go to the “Book” section, select the Rome pilgrimage, complete your details and pay the deposit. This ensures your place is secured quickly and efficiently.
While paper booking forms are available, some have found these more difficult to complete. For this reason, we strongly encourage parishioners to use the online booking system wherever possible.
Good news for those who may have thought it too late to join: the deadline for bookings has now been extended until the end of April. There is still time to take part in what promises to be a memorable and spiritually rewarding pilgrimage.
If you have ever considered making a pilgrimage to Rome, this could be the perfect opportunity. We warmly invite you to prayerfully consider joining us this October.
