Margaret Mary offers a walk through Spiritual Exercises

During Advent Margaret Mary McFadyen will be leading a series of online workshops on the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola.

Margaret Mary, who is diocesan representative to the Bishops’ Conference Spirituality Committee, has structured each 90-minute session in a similar way.

  • Preparation for prayer (~10 mins)
  • Prayer (~30 mins)
  • Review of prayer (~20 mins): Tea/coffee/cake/biscuits at this point, in the comfort of your own home.
  • Paired sharing (~15 mins)

Sharing with one other can be helpful to clarify the prayer experience. In breakout rooms.

  • Group sharing (~15 mins)

The dates are:

Saturday November 21: The Spiritual Exercises: presentation and talk – based on study and personal experience.

Saturday November 28 : Lectio Divina – practised throughout the Church through the ages.

Saturday December 5: Imaginative Contemplation – significant contribution to the Church’s prayer tradition by St Ignatius.

Saturday December 12 : Praying with Images – a structure to deepen prayer experience when using images.

Saturday December 19: The Examen – a form of prayer advocated by St Ignatius as being important for living reflectively with God.

The course is free, but donations are invited. You can register here:
