Pupils at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Norwich have once again demonstrated their commitment to serving others, donating an impressive 231kg of food to Norwich Foodbank during the current academic year.
The school’s Mini Vinnies group has led the initiative, encouraging fellow pupils, families and staff to support local people facing hardship through regular food collections. The generous response from the school community has resulted in a significant contribution to the Foodbank, which has thanked the school for its continued support.
The Mini Vinnies, inspired by the values of St Vincent de Paul, have played a key role in organising the collections and promoting the importance of helping those in need. Their efforts reflect the school’s commitment to putting faith into action and living out the Gospel through practical acts of charity.
Headteacher Mrs Kim Laudan said the school was proud of the generosity shown by its community and the dedication of the Mini Vinnies in supporting Norwich Foodbank over many years.
Meanwhile, the school has also announced an exciting development for local families. From September 2026, Notre Dame Preparatory School’s Minibeasts Nursery will offer 30 hours of funded childcare for eligible three and four-year-olds, alongside 15 hours of funded provision for eligible two-year-olds.
The expanded funded places will help make the school’s early years provision more accessible to Catholic families across the NR2 area of Norwich and beyond, supporting children at the very start of their educational journey in a caring, faith-filled environment.
The two announcements reflect Notre Dame’s ongoing commitment both to serving the wider community and supporting local families through Catholic education.
