Quartet of ordinations set for Diocese of East Anglia

Seminarian Peter Wygnanski will be ordained as a priest in the Diocese of East Anglia on Saturday July 25 at St John’s Cathedral in Norwich, the first of four ordinations of priests and deacons over the summer.


Peter, a fifth year seminarians at The Venerable English College in Rome who grew up in Cambridge, was ordained as a transistory deacon in Rome last year by Bishop Alan Hopes.

An invited congregation of up to 200 only will be allowed to attend the social-distanced ordination in person but everyone can watch it live or recorded online.

Jacob Cheriyan, who is a chaplain at Whitemoor Prison near March will be ordained to the permanent diaconate at 11.30am on Wednesday July 29 at St John’s. Watch it live here.

Prameel Joseph, who is a chaplain at Littlehey Prison near Huntingdon will be ordained to the permanent diaconate at 11.30am on Thursday July 30 at St John’s. Watch it live here.

Finally on Saturday September 19, Deacon Andrew Neate from Cromer will be ordained as a priest at St John’s at 11.30am.
