Below you will find a list of events from around the Diocese of East Anglia, many are run by the Diocesan Youth Service but some may be run by other organisations operating in the Diocese. 19th February 2022 – Glow: Peterborough
Let faith bring light into your life with inspirational workshops, music and prayer at our local Glow event for those aged 12-18. At St Peter and All Souls Church, Geneva Street, Peterborough, PE1 2RS. Booking and further information will be available soon.
13th March 2022 – World Youth Day Lisbon Launch Event
Come and find our more about joining us on the trip of a lifetime to the world’s biggest Catholic event World Youth Day which will be held in Lisbon in 2023. Anyone who will be between the ages of 16 and 35 by August 2023 is welcome to come, find out more and meet others who may be coming too. At Our Lady and St Etheldreda’s Parish Centre, 14 Exeter Road, Newmarket, CB8 8LT. Time to be confirmed.

Let faith bring light into your life with inspirational workshops, music and prayer at our local Glow event for those aged 12-18. Unfortunately this event was unable to go ahead in January as originally planned – a new date and venue will be confirmed in due course.
30th April – 2nd May 2022 – Ignite Festival 2022
The East of England’s premier Catholic youth event returns as we gather with teenagers from all around East Anglia for a festival weekend of music, entertainment and powerful expressions of faith. You don’t want to miss it! More details will be available here as soon as they are available. Contact Hamish on email@example.com with any queries.
N.B. The Bishop expects all Confirmation candidates in the Diocese (who fall into the festival age range) to attend this event.
July 2022 – East Anglia Young Adults Summer Pilgrimage
Join us on an unforgettable travelling adventure! Destination and dates are still to be decided and more info will be posted here as soon as it’s available. Previous destinations have included Spain, Portugal, France and Scotland.
Saturday 4th March 2023 – Flame at Wembley Arena
Join us for the biggest Catholic youth gathering in England with thousands of young people at the world-famous SSE Wembley Arena. The theme for Flame 2023 is beLoved and the day is set to include lively music, international speakers and a lot more. Open to those from Year 9 up to and including university age. Details of groups and transport from our Diocese will be posted here closer to the time. Contact Hamish on firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in coming or in bringing a parish or school group. This event will replace Flame2021 which was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
August 2023 – World Youth Day Lisbon
At the invitation of Pope Francis, young people from around the world will gather in Lisbon for a life-changing week of celebration and pilgrimage. A group from the Diocese of East Anglia will travel to be among them. More details will be posted on this website in early 2022.

The Ignite Team also runs various events on behalf of individual parishes and schools including retreats, school missions and youth Masses. For more information on what the Ignite Team can offer to parishes and schools click here. Glow Days: These are one-day events run by the Ignite Team in local areas around the Diocese. The day is composed of dynamic talks, interactive workshops, activities, music and opportunities for prayer and reflection. If you would like to find out more, or would like to help bring a Glow day to your local area, please contact us on email@example.com.
Discipleship Days: these are similar to our Glow Retreat Days but are aimed at people aged 16 – 35, exploring areas of our faith in greater depth and also enabling us to grow together in fellowship. The day is composed of times of prayer, both communal and personal, talks, discussion and workshops.
