In summer 2026, our diocesan youth will join the wider Diocese on pilgrimage to Lourdes, one of the world’s most beloved Catholic shrines. The pilgrimage is open to young people aged 16 and over. Lourdes is a place of prayer, service and deep encounter with Christ, where pilgrims from across the world gather in faith and hope. Travelling together as a diocesan family makes the experience especially powerful, offering lasting friendships and cherished memories.
In summer 2027, young adults aged 18 and over are invited to travel to South Korea for World Youth Day in Seoul, a global gathering of young Catholics with the Holy Father. World Youth Day is a unique opportunity to experience the universality of the Church, grow in faith and encounter Christ alongside young people from every continent. It promises to be an unforgettable and spiritually enriching experience.
Hamish MacQueen, Director of Youth Service, warmly encourages young people to consider taking part. “Both pilgrimages offer amazing experiences, and may even change your life,” he said.
